Roblox is rolling out major upgrades to Rewarded Video ads, giving creators new ways to earn more while keeping gameplay smooth and engaging for players.

The update introduces easier setup tools, improved analytics, and brand-new ad placements designed to help developers increase revenue without disrupting the player experience.

“Join with Reward” Brings Ads Before Gameplay

One of the biggest additions is the new “Join with Reward” placement. Eligible players can now watch a rewarded ad directly from a game’s Experience Details Page before joining the experience.

After watching the ad, players enter the game with an instant reward already unlocked. According to Roblox, this system helps creators reach more ads-eligible users and boost overall impressions — one of the biggest factors in increasing ad earnings.

The feature is currently being tested with a small number of creators and limited traffic. Roblox says creators will eventually be able to manage the placement directly through Creator Hub.

No Coding Required for Rewarded Video

Roblox is also testing a brand-new drag-and-drop plugin inside Studio that allows creators to add Rewarded Video ads without needing advanced scripting knowledge.

Developers will be able to:

  • Drag Rewarded Video placements directly into their game
  • Customize rewards
  • Change button designs
  • Reduce setup errors that can hurt ad performance

This aims to make monetization far easier for smaller creators and beginner developers who may have previously avoided ads because of technical complexity.

Improved Reporting and Analytics

To help developers optimize earnings, Roblox has simplified Rewarded Video reporting with several new metrics:

  • Opt-In Rate — shows how many eligible players are choosing to watch ads
  • Frequency — tracks how many ads a player sees daily
  • Fill Rate & Reward Rate Breakdowns — helps creators understand placement performance and reliability

These analytics are designed to help creators fine-tune where ads appear and how often rewards are offered without overwhelming players.

Test Ads Safely With Creator Experimentation Platform

Roblox is also encouraging developers to use the Creator Experimentation Platform (CXP) to test ad placements before rolling them out to all users.

This allows creators to:

  • Show Rewarded Video ads to only a small percentage of players
  • Monitor engagement and retention in real time
  • Adjust placements before a full launch

The feature helps developers avoid negative community reactions while experimenting with new monetization strategies.

Over 1,200 Games Already Using Rewarded Video

Roblox revealed that more than 1,200 games are already using Rewarded Video ads, with over 80% of creators reporting neutral or positive community engagement.

The company says these new enhancements are focused on making ads more creator-friendly, easier to implement, and better integrated into gameplay loops.

As Roblox continues expanding advertising tools across the platform, Rewarded Video is quickly becoming one of the biggest monetization options for developers of all sizes.
