Ed Sheeran’s LOOP Tour has been hit by major changes ahead of its remaining North American dates, after rapper Macklemore was removed from the tour and several other artists subsequently withdrew.
Macklemore was removed from the upcoming US shows after making pro-Palestinian comments during performances at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium earlier this month. Sheeran later said the decision was made by the tour promoter and stadium venues, rather than by him personally.
The situation then escalated, with Finneas, Aaron Rowe, Lukas Graham and Irish band Beoga all withdrawing from the remaining tour dates. The artists cited their disagreement with the circumstances surrounding Macklemore's departure.
Sheeran has said he attempted to find a solution between the different sides, but that the promoter and venues ultimately made the decision. He also said he wanted his shows to remain a place where people from different backgrounds could come together.
Despite the changes, the LOOP Tour is continuing, with Sheeran scheduled to perform in Philadelphia on September 19 before continuing across North America through November. His official website currently lists upcoming shows across the US.
Meanwhile, Sheeran's latest officially listed release is “Repeat It (2015 Version)”, released in June 2026. The song is a collaboration with Martin Garrix and revisits a track that was originally recorded years earlier.
