Roblox has announced a major expansion of its mental health and digital well-being initiatives as part of Mental Health Awareness Month, introducing new partnerships, educational resources, and platform features designed to support young users and families online.

The company says the updates are part of its ongoing commitment to making Roblox a safer and healthier space for players of all ages. Since many children and teens experience their first online interactions through Roblox, the platform says it wants to help young people build healthy digital habits while giving parents stronger tools and guidance.

Partnering With Mental Health Experts

One of the biggest announcements is a new partnership with Koko, a nonprofit focused on online mental health support. Together, Roblox is sponsoring a new interactive game aimed at helping kids and teens develop resilience against bullying.

The experience is being developed alongside game studio Playerthree and researchers from Northwestern University’s Lab for Scalable Mental Health. Once completed, the game will launch directly on Roblox.

Koko CEO Rob Morris said the collaboration is designed to make mental health support feel more accessible to young people online.

Roblox also highlighted the winners of this year’s LA Hacks Civility Challenge, a competition encouraging students to create games centered around digital well-being and mental health. The winning project, Mindful Egg, was created by UCLA students Jasmine Ly and Michelle Phan.

The game uses self-care activities such as journaling, stretching, and breathing exercises to help virtual pets grow and thrive. The pair reportedly built the game in under 36 hours.

Expanding Crisis Support Services

Roblox is also expanding its partnership with ThroughLine, a confidential support service that helps users connect with local helplines and mental health resources.

The partnership originally began in 2024, but throughout 2026 Roblox plans to make ThroughLine’s helpline locator available in more areas across the platform to better support users who may need immediate help.

In addition, Roblox has joined Thrive, an industry-wide initiative that allows platforms to securely share anonymous safety signals related to harmful content involving self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders. Roblox says this system helps companies identify dangerous trends and viral challenges earlier without sharing personal user information.

New Resources for Teens and Parents

Alongside the partnerships, Roblox has introduced new educational resources for families.

Working with mental health expert Dan Reidenberg, Roblox created a new Gaming & Mental Health guide for teens and younger players. The guide explains both the positive effects of gaming and warning signs that may indicate it’s time to take a break from screens.

The platform’s Teen Council has also created digital well-being tips that will be shared with the Roblox community through Roblox’s official Instagram account and a new youth well-being page.

New Well-Being Features on Roblox

Roblox says it continues to expand built-in tools that help users create healthy online habits. Current features include:

  • Screen-time limits for monitoring time spent on Roblox
  • A “Do Not Disturb” mode to silence notifications during sleep or study time
  • Online status controls that let teens decide who can see when they are active
  • Reporting tools for harmful or concerning behavior

The company says these features are designed to make digital well-being a standard part of the platform experience rather than an afterthought.

Roblox also encouraged parents to regularly talk with children about their online experiences, saying open conversations remain one of the most important tools for staying safe online.

As online gaming continues to grow worldwide, Roblox’s latest announcements show how major platforms are increasingly focusing not only on entertainment, but also on the mental health and well-being of their communities.
