Roblox has officially lowered the Highly Engaged Player requirement from 500 to 250, making it easier for more experiences to become eligible for wider age audiences.
The change was announced on the Roblox Developer Forum on August 21, 2026, with Roblox confirming that the threshold has been cut in half.
Previously, developers needed to reach 500 Highly Engaged Players to meet the relevant audience eligibility requirement. That number has now been reduced to 250 Highly Engaged Players, potentially opening the door for more smaller and growing experiences.
Roblox says creators can check their game's current status through the Audience Reach tab.
The reduction follows Roblox's earlier plans to make eligibility for Roblox Kids and Select audiences more accessible to developers. Roblox had previously announced that it was working on lowering the Highly Engaged Player threshold.
The change could particularly benefit smaller or niche developers that may have struggled to reach the previous 500-player requirement.
With the threshold now at 250, more Roblox experiences could become eligible for broader audiences without needing to reach the previous 500-player milestone.
